Unlike the other lava tubes, Tintron was thought to have been created by a pressure bubble which eventually burst creating an opening in the ground. The primary lava channels have since been sealed by the cooled lava leaving a massive hole under the ground. Over the past hundreds of years the rock has peeled away to reveal beautiful colours and rock formations.
Join us as we abseil vertically 13 meters (43 feet) through a hole in the earth to explore the 27 meter (89 feet) long cave. Time permitting, you may want to challenge yourself with some rock climbing to get to the upper level of the cave. Everyone will then exit the cave climbing up a rope ladder.
